EMILI’s annual conference, Agriculture Enlightened, is taking place on October 23, 2025, at the Delta Hotel in Winnipeg. This year’s theme is Driving Agriculture Innovation. Together we’ll explore how farmers and others in the Canadian agriculture industry are adopting agtech, discuss ways to navigate the shifting global trade landscape, and connect with leaders advancing innovation across Canada.
The conference will include a series of keynote and panel discussions including:
- Navigating Agriculture’s Evolving Global Trade Environment with Gary Mar, Canada West Foundation;
- Innovation Farms Network: Bringing New Innovations from Pre-commercial to Market with with EMILI Innovation Farms Manager Leanne Koroscil, Invest Ottawa/Area X.O’s Susanne Cork, and other innovation farm leaders;
- The Legal Lowdown on Spray Drones and Emerging Agtech Regulations with MLT Aikins lawyers Erika A. Carrasco and Nicolas Joubert;
- And more.
“Technology is continuously evolving and reshaping the industry, allowing us to do more, and in a more productive and sustainable way,” said EMILI Managing Director Jacqueline Keena. “This provides a huge opportunity for Canada to increase its prominence and grow our position as a global leader in food production. Bringing experts together from across the agtech sector equips us to harness these opportunities.”
EMILI looks forward to welcoming agri-food and technology experts, industry leaders, producers, decision-makers, researchers and students to Winnipeg on October 23. We will dig into the shifting global trade landscape with Gary Mar, president and CEO of Canada West Foundation, gain insight into legal issues around spray drones with MLT Aikins lawyers Erika A. Carrasco and Nicolas Joubert, and hear from Innovation Farms leaders across Canada including EMILI’s Leanne Koroscil and Invest Ottawa/Area X.O’s Susanne Cork about how the latest technologies on Innovation Farms across the country are solving real problems for farmers. Plus, hear from Wabash Heartland Innovation Network’s Johnny Park and Jason Tennenhouse, as well as farmers on the forefront of agtech adoption, and Canadian entrepreneurs who are taking agtech to the next level.
Since 2020, this conference has brought together a diverse stakeholder group including agri-food and technology experts, industry leaders, decision-makers, researchers, and students from across the prairies. In 2025, we’re expecting a crowd of 300 attendees, and we look forward to building on the success of the last six years with another outstanding event that provides a space for excellent speakers, discussion, and an opportunity to network with leaders from across digital agriculture.
