Technology is changing at a rapid pace. We see this firsthand with the amount of data gathered just this year alone on EMILI’s Innovation Farms powered by AgExpert.

Over the course of the season, EMILI partnered with 23 organizations on 23 unique projects, conducted 21 drone flights over eight fields, deployed over 50 sensors, hosted 17 tours, and shared insights with more than 535 visitors, including over 200 students.

These technologies including AgExpert Agi3, Geco Strategic Weed Management and Ukko Agro are highlighted in EMILI’s 2024 Innovation Farms video.

“By creating space on a full scale, commercial farm for innovators to test and validate how their solutions work in a real-life setting, and then sharing these insights to inform decision making, we de-risk the technology, giving farmers increased confidence in its capabilities prior to adopting it on their own farm,” said EMILI Managing Director Jacquleine Keena in the video.

Innovation Farms is located on Rutherford Farms, a 5,500+ acre seed farm twenty minutes north of Winnipeg. This collaboration allows EMILI to evaluate the return on investment of agriculture technology in a real-world commercial setting, guided by three strategic priorities: enable farmer-centric innovation; advance sustainable technologies and techniques; and increase digital agriculture skills and knowledge.
