EMILI and OCP North America (OCP) have announced a new collaboration focused on advancing agricultural innovation through field-based research which will take place at EMILI’s Innovation Farms powered by AgExpert.
“We are pleased to collaborate with OCP North America, the world’s largest producer of phosphorus,” said EMILI Managing Director Jacqueline Keena. “This represents EMILI’s first international collaboration on Innovation Farms and is an important way to drive agriculture innovation in Canada and globally!”
OCP North America represents a century-long company and world’s leading supplier of phosphate products which operate responsibly in the largest phosphate reserves in the world.
EMILI’s Innovation Farms spans over 14,000 acres across two Manitoba Farms to provide real-world demonstrations, testing, and validation of agriculture technology and production practices in real-world commercial farm settings.
Both OCP North America and EMILI bring complementary expertise – EMILI in digital agriculture, and OCP in plant nutrition and soil science – to accelerate innovation in the sector and develop tailored agriculture products, technologies, and customer-centric knowledge to better serve the needs of Canadian farmers.

The collaboration will leverage OCP’s over 100 years of industry-leading expertise in agriculture and agronomy and EMILI’s advanced sensor network and digital infrastructure to generate actionable insights for producers across North America.
This joint collaboration will explore and help execute OCP North America’s innovation pipeline to improve soil health, nutrient efficiency, and climate resilience, aligning with both organizations’ commitment to sustainable agriculture, farming practices and food security.
While OCP North America, has increased its presence in the Canadian agricultural market as a critical supplier of essential phosphorus fertilizer products, the company, as phosphorus (P) custodian, has also increased its research and development, and innovation commitment, relying on a science-based/science-back approach.
Research will be conducted on P cycles and P efficiency to create and produce innovative solutions that deliver proven results for Canadian farmers.
The partnership between EMILI and OCP North America increases both organization’s ability to engage producers, researchers, and agri-food stakeholders to serve the whole agriculture ecosystem and community through knowledge sharing activities.
