Hear directly from agtech innovators on their experience testing and validating digital agriculture technology at EMILI’s 2024 Agriculture Enlightened conference.

Ellery Burton (Alterra Innovation) and Greg Stewart (Geco Strategic Weed Management) will share their experience testing agtech at EMILI’s Innovation Farms powered by AgExpert. We will hear what they have learned from their experience to date, as well as next steps developing real world digital agriculture solutions to give Canadian producers the edge in a quickly changing industry.

“It is a privilege to have such a talented lineup of panelists at this year’s conference,” said EMILI Managing Director Jacqueline Keena. “This panel is a unique opportunity to hear from leaders of novel Canadian agtech companies about their experiences scaling digital ag, and is sure to be an inspiring conversation.”

Ellery Burton is Principal Managing Partner at Alterra Innovation. Since early 2024, Alterra Innovations has been working with EMILI to validate its GrainTracker system, which provides track-and-trace technology to digitize grain inventory and harvest records for farms.

Greg Stewart is Founder and CEO of Geco Strategic Weed Management. Since 2023, EMILI has worked with them to assess the performance of their techniques for proactive weed management, using drone and satellite imagery to predict kochia and wild oat populations and detect emerging herbicide resistance.

By providing leading-edge technology and real-world validation on a working farm, EMILI helps entrepreneurs in the digital ag industry develop real solutions for a variety of challenges that farmers in the agriculture and agri-food industries face.

2024 marks EMILI’s fifth year hosting its annual Agriculture Enlightened conference in Winnipeg.
