Attendees at this week’s Agriculture Enlightened Conference will see a preview of Great Taste Manitoba’s most recent “Produced on the Prairies” episode featuring EMILI’s Innovation Farms powered by AgExpert.

You can also tune into CTV Winnipeg at 6:30 pm on Saturday, November 9 to watch. After it airs, you’ll find it on the Great Tastes Manitoba YouTube channel.

The show visited Innovation Farms this summer to produce the episode, We Produce Solutions as part of a series of documentaries on Manitoba’s agricultural and agri-food sector created in partnership between Great Tastes Manitoba and Manitoba Ag Days to celebrate the show’s 35th season.

This episode, We Produce Solutions was supported by Manitoba Pulse & Soybean Growers. It includes interviews with EMILI Innovation Farms Manager Leanne Koroscil, and partners EMILI has worked with to develop digital agriculture solutions on Innovation Farms; University of Manitoba Associate Professor Christopher Henry, Solum Valley Biosciences Research Scientist Kevin Baron, and Rutherford Farms General Manager Corey Park.

“In past seasons, we have primarily showcased folks who work in food production – livestock and grain farmers – from across the province. We’ve compiled over 70 stories about farms and agricultural communities and everyone we’ve met has been so welcoming and genuine in their passion for what they do” says Great Tastes’ Senior Producer, Donalee Jones. “Sharing the stories, not only of the food produced on the prairies but of all the ways agriculture impacts the life of an average Manitoban, is a great opportunity.”

Since 1991, Great Tastes Manitoba has entertained viewers and connected consumers with Manitoba’s nutritious, affordable ingredients and the passionate people who produce them. The feature on EMILI’s Innovation Farms is one of over 500 episodes of television, 1509 recipes, and 70 stories that has been produced to highlight Manitoba’s vibrant agriculture sector.

“We are proud to have Innovation Farms featured in this series and encourage everyone to watch this episode to learn more about how we provide innovators across industry and academia with access to leading-edge equipment, technology, and production practices to increase productivity, sustainability, and profitability across the agriculture and agri-food sector,” said EMILI Managing Director Jacqueline Keena.

Season 35 of Great Tastes airs on CTV Winnipeg, Saturdays at 6:30 pm CST and on the Rural Channel across Canada. Full episodes of Great Tastes can be streamed on the Great Tastes Manitoba YouTube channel. The series is produced by Frank Digital with funding provided by the Government of Canada and Manitoba Agriculture through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership and Manitoba’s farmers and ranchers through their non-profit industry associations.

EMILI’s Innovation Farms is unique in Canada in that it operates on a commercial seed farm to test and validate new technologies to bring them from pre-commercial to market, showcase technology demonstrations, and share insights to increase understanding of and access to digital agriculture tools.
