This International Women’s day, we’re celebrating the diverse and talented women who play an integral role in the digital agriculture industry.
Digital agriculture is a dynamic sector that offers rewarding careers not just on the farm, but in labs, offices, classrooms, factories, and beyond. The industry is made up of many types of jobs and technologies, and requires people with various experiences and skill sets.
Over the past year, we have interviewed several women who work in different roles in the sector, and who have made significant contributions to advancing digital agriculture in Canada, helping farmers increase production and put food on our plates. Technology Lawyer
Danielle Graff is a technology lawyer and partner at MLT Aikins. She works with innovative businesses in the ag sector that are looking for new opportunities to revolutionize their operations or the sector overall.
Food Development Centre Director
Robin Young is a food scientist and the director of Manitoba Agriculture’s Value Added Branch. She leads a team that helps Manitoba companies bring innovative food products to market.
Chief Growth Officer
Liz Pham is the Chief Growth Officer at GrainFox. Liz came to GrainFox during a career transition with no prior experience in agriculture, and found that the skills from earlier in her career were transferable to her exciting new role in agtech.
Smart Farm Manager
Chelsea Gray is the manager of the Farm Credit Canada (FCC) Smart Farm Network. She manages FCC’s strategic partnerships with smart farms in Canada and works closely with partners to maximize the opportunities for testing and validation of innovative solutions on the farm.
Documentary Producer and Grain Farmer
Donalee Jones is a grain farmer and senior producer with Great Tastes of Manitoba. She shares stories about locally grown ingredients and Manitoba’s agriculture and agri-food sector with consumers.
