About the technology
The Picketa Systems LENS™ (leaf evaluated nutrient system) scans plant leaves. The cloud-based algorithms are able to provide information about the plant’s nutrient status without sending samples to a lab.

GROSSE ISLE (2026)
EMILI will test the Picketa Systems LENS™ tissue scanner in corn, soybeans, and spring wheat. Tissue samples will be taken at numerous growth stages throughout the season, scanned with the LENS™, and then sent for lab analysis to compare the results.
This technology is being evaluated on EMILI’s Innovation Farms and across the AIVA Network’s Validation Hubs, providing a national lens on how the technology works across Canada’s diverse agricultural regions.
