About the technology
The Elmer’s Manufacturing Super 7 Harrow Bar is a multipurpose tool, used early in the spring for seedbed preparation and in the fall to incorporate fertilizer or manage straw. The Super 7 Harrows can be adjusted remotely and autonomously through a tablet in the tractor cab. As the equipment approaches a headland, pressure is taken off the harrows to improve efficiency of the unit.

EMILI is evaluating the economics and efficiencies of increasing tillage equipment sizes by assessing a variety of parameters between 70 ft and 90 ft harrow operating widths. Fuel efficiency improvements, labour reductions, and tractor hour reductions will be examined between the two harrow operating widths to assess the value of larger tillage equipment.
